The flu, both epidemic and pandemic, is caused by our farming practices. It could stop by eliminating all pork and duck farming.
As a vegetarian i think the solution to all future flu pandemics is simply to ban the raising and consumption of pigs and ducks. it’s simple
In the case of swine, yeah it’s factory farming, but for ducks i’m pretty sure it’s actually traditional small farmers in south east asia.

The most likely story is that mexico missed the vast majority of flu cases which were not serious. There by creating the appearance of a very virulent flu.
